Iran Attempts Missile Strike on US-UK Base in the Indian Ocean

Iran has reportedly attempted a ballistic missile strike targeting the joint US-UK military base on Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, Tehran launched two intermediate-range ballistic missiles toward the base.

According to the report, neither of the missiles reached their target. One of the missiles malfunctioned mid-flight, while the other was engaged by a US warship using an SM-3 missile interceptor. However, it remains unclear whether the interception was successful.

No official statement has been issued by either Iranian or US authorities regarding the reported attack.
